CLOTH is a 67-year old non-profit that is committed to addressing the root causes of poverty in northern Manhattan neighborhoods. Since its founding in 1952, CLOTH has played an integral role shaping and supporting the Washington Heights and Inwood community, with such notable achievements as

  • Developing 175 units of deeply affordable housing, also known as The Eliza, as part of the new Inwood Library project (2019)

  • Establishing the highly successful Community Health Academy of the Heights, a 6th to 12th Grade Public School

  • Supporting 200+ children annually in our K12 after school programs, and an additional 180 in our summer camps

  • Working with over 200+ adults annually on literacy, computer skills, ESL and job training programs

  • Creating the First Police Athletic League Play-Street

  • Developing over 1,500 Units of Affordable Housing

  • CLOTH was recently selected as part of the development team that will renovate 1700 units of public housing under the Permanent Affordability Together Program
