BROADWAY - WASHINGTON HEIGHTS BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (BID).

A Business Improvement District (BID) is a geographical area where local stakeholders oversee and fund the maintenance, improvement, and promotion of their commercial district. The New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) oversees 75 BIDS throughout NYC; including one on 181st Street in Washington Heights, NYC.
Boundaries: Broadway between 155th Street and 178th Street
Extended to: 168th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam (South side)

Steering Committee
Our Steering Committee is in the Outreach phase of forming a Business Improvement District (BID) along Broadway between 155th Street & 178th Street, extending to 168th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam.
During the Outreach phase, we distribute a ballot to all property owners, merchants and residents within our proposed BID boundaries. We ask your support by completing this ballot. If you are a property owner, business owner or resident within these boundaries, scan the QR code below to register your vote.
This BID would provide the following services:

Sanitation and Maintenance services (enhanced services proposed including, but not limited to,
sidewalk sweeping, graffiti removal, power washing, and snow removal at corners) -
Public Safety program

Beautification: Tree pit maintenance, planting greenery

Streetscaping and Decorations (banners and holiday lighting)

Business Support (technical assistance, resource advocacy)
-
Dedicated staff to manage the organization and programs

Marketing & Promotions to increase tourism and Washington Heights brand recognition
(events, social media, district branding) -
Advocacy (liaising with City agencies to address business and district-wide concerns)
