BROADWAY BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (BID) EXPLORATION.
CLOTH, along with local stakeholders (non-profits, merchants, residents), are in the exploratory phase of forming a Business Improvement District (BID) along Broadway between 155th Street & 178th Street, extending to 168th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam. A Business Improvement District (BID) is a geographical area where local stakeholders oversee and fund the maintenance, improvement, and promotion of their commercial district.
The New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) oversees 75 BIDS throughout NYC; including one on 181st and in West Harlem on 125th Street. Additionally, there are several locations either in the formation or expansion phase.
