SMALL BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT
Small business development is a key component of our mission. CLOTH believes that family owned, small businesses are the backbone of our community. We provide services that help small businesses thrive even during the most difficult economic times. CLOTH offers marketing support to raise awareness about local businesses and encourages residents to shop locally. We currently offer services to 570 businesses along the commercial corridors of Broadway, St. Nicholas and Amsterdam Avenue.
MERCHANT SUPPORT.
Our current small business development projects include a collaboration with Neighborhoods Now, a team of architects, designers and engineers dedicated to revitalizing communities devasted by COVID. CLOTH has worked with Neighborhoods Now to conduct an extensive needs assessment, construct façade improvements, outdoor enclosures and design attractive, durable and cost-effective street furniture for outside dining. We also organize and host community cleanup days, help with city applications such as Open Restaurants, and manage three Open Streets locations.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Trainings for Small Businesses. We provide in-person trainings that aim to give merchants the skills and information they need to grow their business.

COMMUNITY CLEANUP

Each year CLOTH hosts Clean Up Days. We bring together members of the community to pick up trash and provide special care to the plants and trees along the commercial corridors.
